Hi there, thanks for the questions. This camera has the equivalent zoom of a 900mm lens. In regards to "how far" that can zoom, we recommend checking out this article that contains a series of photographs showing images of the moon at various focal lengths: https://fstoppers.com/originals/revie...
The tough part about answering a question of how far it can zoom is that this is wholly dependent on the size of the object that you are photographing. At the same focal length at maximum zoom on this camera, a dog might not be visible but you may get a great shot of an elephant. For low light, please note that this camera is equipped to do very well in its class however long-zoom cameras like this do have some trouble during and after dusk. The further you zoom, the less light that makes it to the camera's sensor and this is what can strain the digital noise in the image. However, on a nice day with only moderate sunlight, you won't have any issues.
In our opinion, this camera is a great choice for traveling light but packing a big punch during a safari. Thanks again!
