Hi there! Yes, 8mm film is scanned frame-by-frame! It can be a bit of a slow process, but you can record entire 8mm and Super-8mm reels with this device. That said, it takes individual JPEG images of each frame, you would need to reassemble them into a video file using video editing software afterwards. If you're specifically looking to digitize 8mm or Super-8mm film, we recommend the Wolverine Data Moviemaker. This is the same device we use in-store for 8mm and Super-8 digitizing. This device automatically compiles the frames together into a viewable movie file!
